The Healthy Tiny Feet initiative is a shining example of how a simple act of care can create a lasting impact on a child’s life. Through persistent communication, relationship building, and international collaboration, Kshitij Zaware successfully secured and executed the District Grant of RID 6990, USA, bringing meaningful support to underprivileged school children in Ahilyanagar.

Many children attending Zilla Parishad schools come from economically challenged families, where basic necessities such as proper footwear often remain beyond reach. Walking long distances barefoot or in worn-out footwear can affect not only their health and safety but also their confidence and school attendance. Recognizing this need, Kshitij envisioned a project that would provide both comfort and dignity to these young learners.

Under the Healthy Tiny Feet initiative, approximately 350 pairs of quality shoes are distributed annually to deserving students from rural and underprivileged backgrounds. What began as a grant-supported project has grown into a sustained and impactful service initiative, successfully implemented in 2017-18, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25, with the project continuing into 2025-26.

Over the years, the initiative has touched the lives of more than 2,750 children, helping them attend school with greater comfort, confidence, and self-esteem. Beyond providing footwear, the project symbolizes Rotary’s commitment to nurturing young minds, supporting education, and ensuring that no child is deprived of opportunities due to lack of basic necessities.

The success and continuity of Healthy Tiny Feet reflect Kshitij Zaware’s dedication to creating sustainable service projects that address real community needs.
